Get Involved

Being a part of the GLBT Community, I knew I wanted to give back and work to bettering the community, but I wasn’t sure how I could accomplish that goal. While attending college, I had to complete a senior thesis/tutorial project. For my thesis, I had to come up with a research question and a gallery show to support it. After discussing possible ideas with friends, I finally decided I wanted to try to answer a really important question, “Why is there a lack of representation of Transmen?”

So in 2008, I started networking through various social medias and meeting Transmen to photography. After traveling, researching and talking to non-Trans and Transmen for two-years, the Other Men Project was created.

I call Other Men a project because I plan to continue evolving and creating it. It has grown from just a college requirement into something really important to me.

Other Men would not be what it is today, or what it will become, if it were not for the outstanding Transmen that became a part of the project. This is a project for Transmen, by Transmen. I’m just here to provide the photography.
